Geotechnical Engineer / CMT

Duties and Responsibilities

The following are required, but not limited to, for the position:

• · Lead, supervise, and manage day-to-day operations including conducting and managing multiple construction field operations consisting of sampling, testing, special inspections, and observations utilizing ASTM, DOT, ACI, AWS and IBC methods and standards.
• · Assist senior staff with project execution and management through an understanding of engineering practice and construction methodologies as indicated by codes and specifications.
• · Perform geotechnical studies, analysis, and design.
• · Develop and follow project budgets and project schedules.
• · Be proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
• · Conduct laboratory analysis of construction materials according to specified methods and standards.

Skills and Qualifications

• · Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field with ability to achieving a professional licensure. Master’s degree or MBA a plus.
• · PE in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida preferred or EIT with the ability to obtain a PE within one year of employment.
• · Three plus years of geotechnical and construction experience is preferred.
• · Knowledge and experience in construction materials (soils, concrete, asphalt) is preferred.
• · Candidates with strong communication skills (written and oral), demonstrated managerial and project management experience, and ability to develop and manage positive client relationships are preferred.
• · Physical activities including walking through uneven difficult terrain, long spans of standing and ability to lift 50 lbs.
• · Up to 25% overnight travel should be anticipated.
